[eltd_dropcaps type=”normal” color=”” background_color=””]I[/eltd_dropcaps] have been enjoying the warmer days we have had here in Switzerland, I adjusted my daily make up routine to suit! I love the look of healthy, glowing skin. The older I get the more I am starting to embrace my skin, it’s not perfect by any means but on a daily basis I am enjoying using BB creams again. They are perfect for the warmer weather and feel super light on the skin. Now, that’s not to say I no longer like full coverage foundation, believe me, I do! But I’m just really enjoying that ‘my skin’ look. It also cuts out so much time when it comes to doing my make up. The problem with full coverage foundation is that you can lose some of the dimension to your face which is then when you break out the contouring products and it takes that much longer to create your desired look.
Anyway, on with the make up. I have decided to do things a little differently this time round and do a ‘pictorial’ post…..
Starting off with the base..
I started with the Smashbox Photo Finish Luminizing primer to help me add a glow, then I used my Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream to even out my skin tone. I applied this using my Real Techniques miracle sponge blending the product all over my face, ears and down my neck. I then went in with two small dots in the centre of my face for extra coverage as that’s where I have more redness.
Then I move onto my brows to let my BB Cream ‘settle’ into my skin. I used my faithfulls which are the L’Oreal Brow Artist Genius Kit in light to medium, followed by my Essence Make Me Brow in the shade 01 blondy brows. My brows are a little crazy at the moment, I am waiting to have them waxed.
Then we move onto concealing. I use the Maybelline Instant Anti Age Effect under eye concealer, but I also use this to highlight my face (hence the scary picture above!) don’t worry the next job is to blend, blend, blend! Again, I’m using the Real Techniques miracle complexion sponge.
I then set everything with my MAC Cosmetics translucent powder.
Then onto my MAC Cosmetics lip primer. I like to use this a few steps before I apply my lip products, this gives the product time to work its magic
Now to add a little more of a bronzed glow to the look. I found this old faithful in my draw and couldn’t remember why I stopped using it. It’s the L’Oreal glam bronze, this product is great, I love the bronzer shade it doesn’t contain glitter and looks natural, the highlight shade is great also. I apply the bronzer to my cheeks, forehead, neck and on my eyes to add more dimension.
Now onto my new favourite mascara, it’s the Estée Lauder Sumptuous Knockout Mascara. I only put this on my top lashes.
This is another old find, this colour is perfect for any glowing look. It’s a L’Oreal lip colour, I honestly have no idea of the name, but its in the shade 600 Nude Vibrato.
Finally, highlighting! I use the MAC Cosmetics Skinfinish in the shade Soft and Gentle.
And that’s it! Like I said before, I absolutely love this look. I would recommend setting this BB Cream as it can be a little too dewy looking! I hope you like these types of posts, I just felt like doing something different. Will you be wearing the Glowing Make up look for spring & summer?
